What this site collects
Nothing at all unless you submit a form. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking across sites, and no cookie used to identify you. Browsing is anonymous.
If you submit an access request, the site records your name, email address, and — if you choose to give them — your organisation, professional role and LinkedIn address, along with the reason you gave and which project you asked about.
If you send an enquiry through the contact page, it records your name, email address, subject and message, and your organisation if you give it. That is the whole of it — there is no other field, hidden or otherwise.
Acknowledgement, not consent
Both forms ask you to confirm you have read this notice, and record which version you were shown and when. That is an acknowledgement rather than consent, and the distinction is deliberate: consent has to be freely withdrawable, and withdrawing it would remove the ability to act on the very request or enquiry you just sent. Your information is used to handle what you sent and to reply — nothing else.
Your address is never stored
To limit automated abuse, submissions are counted against a one-way keyed digest of your network address. The address itself is never written down, and the key that produces the digest is held outside the database, so the digest cannot be turned back into an address.
What is done with what you send
It is read personally. If the material can be shared, or if your enquiry warrants a reply, you receive one by email. A request is not an approval, nothing is sent automatically, and no decision is made by software.
Each submission may produce up to two emails: one notifying George, and one confirming receipt to you. Nothing else is sent, and you are not added to anything.
How long it is intended to be kept
The intended schedule is: access requests for twenty-four months after they are closed, general enquiries for twelve months, abuse-prevention digests for thirty days, and rate-limiting records for forty-eight hours.
Automatic deletion is not yet in operation. No scheduled purge runs at present, so records are removed by hand until it is built. This notice describes the intended schedule rather than a mechanism that is already running, because saying otherwise would not be true.
What is never done
- There is no mailing list, and nothing you submit is used for marketing.
- Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared for advertising.
- There are no accounts, and no profile is built about you.
